How to Join

Nothing equals the excitement when you hear the alarm tones calling you to respond to an emergency: the exhilaration of diving into your gear and running for the ambulance; the satisfaction of knowing that you may save a life tonight. Become a volunteer with the Arlington-Falls Church Volunteer Rescue Squad -- be one of the dedicated men and women who donate your time when your community calls. It truly is the experience of a lifetime!

We always are looking for talented individuals who are committed to making a difference in the community. If you feel you have what it takes to meet the challenges of our business, we'd very much like to talk to you. Membership in the Rescue Squad is obtained by joining one of the volunteer fire companies which are a part of the Arlington County Fire and Rescue Association. Prior EMS experience is not required. Once you have completed volunteer recruit training and become certified as an Emergency Medical Technician, you are able to staff the ambulance as a Candidate provider. We will work with you to learn the ropes of EMS in Arlington County and the role of the Arlington-Falls Church Volunteer Rescue Squad.

For those with a desire to support our operations who do not wish to participate in emergency care in the field, we offer administrative membership. Administrative members provide much of the behind-the-scenes work that keep our operations going, and we are eager for you to get involved.

If you are interested in learning more about joining the Rescue Squad, please fill out the form below and click "Submit." Someone from our membership team will contact you to discuss volunteer opportunities and requirements. If you have any questions, please click here to email us. Thank you for your interest in the Arlington-Falls Church Volunteer Rescue Squad!
